The Okoyo-Lekety road border to Gabon is now operational
Yesterday, Congolese president Denis Sassou N’guessou inaugurated the end of work for the national road n °11, Okoyo-Lekety border to Gabon. The achievement of this road is a result of an economic and social partnership between DR Congo and China.
This explains why it was the Chinese Company CMEC which conducted the building of the road under the control of Fichtner Engineer consulting. The road project has cost more than 40 billion CFA Francs and lasted about 3 years. Nearly 800 people participated in the execution of the project, including Congolese, Chinese and Europeans.
90 kilometres long, the road Okoyo-Lekety-border of Gabon is the extension of the road Obouya-Bossé-Okoyo, officially commissioning in 2011. Its floor is 7 meters, with shoulders of one meter each in the open companion and 9 meters, as well as two sidewalks of one metre in urban areas. The maximum longitudinal slope is 8.5%, and 2.5% cross slope.
