PEA’s absence according to the FEGAFOOT
The Gabonese FA said after having being pointed out as responsible for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s absence during the game against Angola for the 2015 AFCON qualifiers that the summoning letter has been sent according to the FIFA deadlines, on October 24th , 3 weeks before the D day.
"The FIFA regulations say that the club must be entered by the federation 15 days before. We were widely beyond this deadline. At first, the club has not responded, then we sent a reminder on November 8th and curiously, Dortmund reckoned this second letter to pretext to that we were late” said the FEGAFOOT spokesperson Guy-Robert Bingouma. However, the FEGAFOOT spokesperson also stressed the fact that Dortmund’s doctor spoke about Ebola risks in Africa.
The FEGAFOOT let us know that they are conducting investigations to verify if Dortmund released players to other federations. If this is the case, “it would be a big injury and a lack of consideration to our federation. We understand that Aubameyang is very important for his club, but so he is for his country," he said.
Though the club expressed its willingness to release Gabon’s striker for today’s last game for AFCON qualifiers. The FEGAFOOT fustigates this kind of attitude and seized the FIFA to give its answers on this issue: “club leaders have no rights to choose games for which they can release a player for his federation”.
