The NAS unveils Social Housing Units in Agondjé

The National Social Housing Company (NAS) launched last week a broad marketing campaign of 872 social housing units built in the northern zone of Libreville, the Gabonese capital by Turkish companies.

’’ The campaign aims to make available to the Gabonese population, decent housing that meets international standards in this area, ’’ said the general manager of the NAS, Paul Mapessi yesterday during a Press tour of the site where these dwellings are erected.
These homes are for sale or rent to Gabonese whose incomes range from 150,000 FCFA and 600,000 FCFA (285-1150 US Dollars) per month.
According to Mapéssi, Gabonese with a monthly low income not exceeding 150,000 FCFA may rent a one-bedroom house at 35 000 FCFA (67 US Dollars) per month. In contrast, those with incomes between 150 000 FCFA and 300,000 FCFA will access the property through hire purchase.
They will have to pay for it between 55,000 and 75,000 FCFA per month to be, after a twelve month lease, the owner of the house.
Those with incomes below or equal to 600,000 FCFA per month will pay a rent of 180 000 FCFA 190,000 FCFA. After twelve months of rent payment, the house will belong to them. The proposed houses are made of prefabricated materials and imported from Turkey.
The construction of these 872 social housing falls within the framework of a comprehensive program that provides for the erection of 30,000 houses on the site of Agondjé north of Libreville. Also planned, the construction of parks, schools and shopping centers.
The newly created state-NAS has already built more than 2,000 homes in the south of Libreville. Housing for the Gabonese with high incomes. The cheapest housing unit in the area is 22 million FCFA.
