The Gabonese Embassy to South Africa has released yesterday through a press communiqué some advice for the Gabon citizens living in South Africa. The advice is a call to awareness and vigilance over the recent xenophobic attacks.

The Embassy urges Gabonese citizens to stay alert over the current South African climate, avoid useless moves, avoid townships which are very dangerous, avoid outing late at night, watch the news, avoid crowd gathering, lock one’s windows cars be it night or day, and do not argue with resident from the host country”.

The Embassy stressed that these are but security measures for the Gabonese citizens living in South Africa.
