The Gabonese, Omar Ntougou was appointed acting Executive Secretary for the network of protected Air from Central Africa (RAPAC), at the end of an extraordinary Council of the institution held last Wednesday and Thursday in Libreville.

Mr. Ntougou was appointed following the ouster of the Cameroonian, Sébastien Kamga Kamdem, by the Council of Ministers. Former Executive Secretary is accused of causing an unhealthy climate inside the RAPAC.

For Equatorial Guinean Minister and current Chairman of the RAPAC, the appointment of Mr. Ntougou on temporary work bodes better tomorrow for the regional environmental organization.

As for the Gabonese Minister of forest, Basile M’boumba urged that an audit is conducted during this transitional period before the appointment of a new Executive Secretary. The accounting analysis will highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the current system and provide information on the steps to take in order to improve the performance of the organization.
