President Ali Bongo at the ECCAS Summit
Gabon’s president Ali Bongo along with 9 other African head of states are attending today in Cameroon a summit in order to find strategies to fight together against Boko Haram threats in Africa.
A total of 10 countries of sub Saharan Africa brought together in that summit of the Economic Community of Central African States to come to solve the problem. Among the solution proposals; the mobilization of a sub regional military force.
This meeting is part of a long process which aims to mobilize African troops and especially to define clearly the mandate and the role of the regional force being developed. Military experts have already met in Yaoundé to delineate the rules of engagement for such cooperation which should include 8 700 soldiers (Chad, Cameroon, Nigeria and Benin).
