In a press release, the opposition party announced that they have requested an international investigation commission to establish the responsibles of the dramatic event that happened during – the prohibited rally in Rio – in which 1 student was killed - and a hundred demonstrators arrested. The opposition leaders also claim for the resignation of President Ali Bongo. While the president’s spokesperson calls it “irresponsible claims”.

After the prohibited meeting held by the opposition leaders, the authors of this meeting were summoned yesterday by police. They first intended not to respond to the summon but ultimately went there together and were freed by police quite fast.
This Wednesday 24th, leaders of the opposition party, even those without summons notice, showed up at the police station with their lawyers. This unity was seen for some like a beautiful proof of togetherness, some others took it as a strategy to prevent arbitrary decision from police. They did refuse to answer to police questions, and on the contrary ask to be brought before the prosecutor for judgment and imprisonment. Police investigators decided to let them go.
