Gabon’s Labor Minister Gabriel Tchango, during a joint press conference with the US Embassy to Gabon Chargé d’Affaires Katherine Brucker, unveiled the logotype for the 14th edition of the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA). The Summit will take place in the Gabonese capital from August 24th to 27th.

“Our symbol is the Gabon’s gray parrot” said the Minister, adding that “the logo represents this mythical bird which was designed achieved by a Gabonese artist.”

For this Summit “More than 1 000 delegates from 39 countries are expected in Libreville to participate in the Summit, under the theme: ˜’AGOA 15 years: perpetuation of the partnership for trade and investment between the United States and Africa".

The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) is a trade mechanism that was passed by the US Government in 2000 to encourage US-Africa trade.
