Gabon goes toward its food auto-sufficiency
Gabon’s President Ali Bongo Ondimba urges the population to work the soil in order to have an activity that confers financial autonomy, respectability and dignity to be ready for the after-oil which is still drastically decreasing.
For the president, since our mining ressoucres will finish someday, the soil remains our number one resource. Said the president during the official launch of the GRAINE program in Makokou, Ogouée Ivindo.
One of the government’s strategies to palliate the oil fall price, the GRAINE project intends to be an economic revolutionary project for the whole country.
The main objective of the program is to help Gabon decrease is high exportation in foods worth more than 15 billion CFA Francs each year. The Project expects the raise of a new generation of farmers, competitive and competent to turn Gabon into an exporter country.
